My Background
Hi, I’m Dr. Claude Cruz. This website is a step in my lifelong pursuit of promoting deep connection between people.
From an early age, I’ve been fascinated by what it is that makes each person unique, and how a world full of unique individuals can nevertheless come together to support and validate one another in community. Having grown up in a family full of love (as well as plenty of human foibles), I’ve sought to help others savor the joys that love can bring. I'm dedicated to working with those who lead a self-examined life, in order to develop themselves to the limits of their desire and capacity.
As a lover and student of Nature, my earlier life included a long career in the sciences and engineering. That career honed my analytical skills. My core interest, though, is in the richness of human relationships. I combine my “heart-centered” coaching with my analytical skills, to help my clients fill their lives with satisfying and intimate relationships.
I pursue my Two Open Doors work through my podcast (see below), through social-media posts, through workshops and events addressing many aspects of relationship and intimacy, and through my individualized coaching sessions. My Philosophy
Two Open Doors explores the proposition that deep connection— genuine and caring human relationship— is the essence of living a happy and fulfilling life. We humans are a very social species; we’re interdependent. If we cut ourselves off from that reality, suffering is sure to follow.
I see the human capacity for sensuality, sexuality and intimacy as essential components of who we are. This led me to acquire a PhD in Human Sexuality, as well as a Professional Sex Coach certification. I use these, and my life-coach training, to help people explore and embrace their sensual and sexual sides, as well as their capacity for emotionally-intimate relationships.
I believe that “Two Open Doors“ relationships, in which both partners are fully available and receptive to one another, are the most satisfying and enduring means for bringing meaning into one’s life. I’m passionate about helping to create, nurture and support such relationships.
